It occurs to me that China is making all the right moves towards becoming the world superpower.
If their leadership is willing to play the long game - and certainly they traditionally have been - they will delay bringing the Taiwan issue to a head until the implosion of the United States is complete. At that point they might be able to move in without firing a shot.

The Cycling Taiwan bicycle tour will begin at the IU Sample Gates on Kirkwood Ave. and end at the Ferguson International Center on Eagleson Ave. Cyclists will stop at four locations along the way, each representing a different region of Taiwan.
